Extension to existing private nursery





Funded with private equity and a grant from the local authority this project is designed to extend and rationalize the existing nursery layout and provide an additional 25 places for children between the ages of 0-7 years of age.

The alterations at ground floor level include a laundry, children’s WC’s, a new kitchen, platform lift and ambulant disabled access stair. The extension at first floor level consists of an office, staff room, staff toilet and two large rooms capable of accommodating 2.5-7 year old children with links to the protected external play areas on both levels.

Albion Square - GDG wins commission







Green Design Group was a member of the West Lake’s Renaissance Framework team that has successfully bid for the provision of a feasibility study for the regeneration of Albion Square in Whitehaven.

GDG, under the framework will provide local architectural knowledge, design input and 3D computer modeling for the project to re-develop this area providing much needed commercial / residential and public realm investment.

The project is ongoing and due to be complete in November 2008.

Threlkeld Village Hall




Green Design Group undertook the sensitive re-design of Threlkeld village hall on behalf of the parish council. The scheme includes the refubishment and extension of the existing builidng with the addition of new meeting rooms, toilets and cafe area. The scheme includes the addition of a new entrance on the roadside with new extension to the rear. The front facade will be kept intact, the rear extension with a modern additon but using local stone with metal roof (this may change to a green roof) and large windows giving views out to the fells.
Funding for the scheme is ongoing.

Cockermouth school new video

Green Design Group has completed a feasibility study for Cockermouth school on the provision of a new Science Skills Laboratory and Planetarium.
The project consists of 3 science skills labs, 3 ICT labs and a planetarium.
It is sited adjacent to the Eco Centre that was completed last year.
The project was presented to the minister for education and will hopefully gain full funding over the next year.
