Cockermouth Floods

Green Design Group Architects are back in business at 64 Main Street Cockermouth. We stayed out of the way over the weekend to allow the emergency services to deal with the situation.

On Monday morning we gained entry and found all equipment safe on the first floor of 64 Main Street, we were lucky and now we would like to help all those affected by the floods.

Our sister office in Brampton dealt with a number of projects after the Carlisle floods so we have the experience of working with Insurance Companies and Loss Adjusters as well as our network of contractors in the area to get businesses up and running and people back into their homes.

Give us a ring on our normal contact number of 01900 822945 or email us at martin@greendesigngroup.co.uk if you need anything we are here to help.

Threlkeld Village Hall gets Planning

Green Design Group is proud to announce that they have secured planning permission on behalf of Threlkeld Parish Council for the refurbishment and extension of Threlkeld village hall in Threlkeld Cumbria.

Although the front of the building has minor interventions , the rear has a new contemporary extension which looks out over the A66 to the Cumbria Fells. It is intended that the new café within the hall caters for users of the C2C cycle route and the existing hall users. The build costs will be around 850k with grants towards sustainable energy systems.

Our client gave us this quote:-

“Threlkeld Parish Council and Threlkeld Village Hall Management Committee are delighted that the scheme has received planning permission in essentially the form submitted. This is a major milestone in the project – the challenge now is to raise the extensive funding needed to make the plans a reality. A large team from the village worked closely with the architects, and the scheme reflects our detailed requirements exactly in an interesting design which merges the traditional with the modern. We are looking to create a Village Hall which serves the community for another 100 years”.
